We often get ask questions and have comments about various aspects of the site and its operations. We have tried to bring these together with answers in the following FAQs sections. We hope this helps in gaining a better understanding of what and why we do things
Why do you charge 20p for showers? We have a 20p charge for a shower which provides around 4 minutes of water. The reason we have this system is to manage the time spent in showers which reduces the need for others to wait to use the showers.
Why can guests not change the water temperature for the showers? The hot water is set by a mixer valve which provides water at the recommended water temperature of 39c. This is done to prevent any chance of scalding etc. Note this temperature is also set for all hand and wash up sinks
Why do you not allow firepits and the burning of wood on site? There are two reasons: first we are on the edge of a valley and any smoke lingers over the campsite and secondly there is a chance that any sparks from a fire could set fire to tents or the grass in dry spells.
Why do you have a 10.30am departure time? We take great pride in how we present and look after our site. We need the time between departures and arrivals starting at 1pm to do a number of maintenance and cleaning duties to ensure that our new arrivals have the site in the best condition we can deliver. Also in the high season allowing our grass pitches a couple of hours of air and sun allows us to keep them in as good condition as we can.
WIFI reception. A WiFi network is provide for free across the site. The speed delivered to each pitch varies due the distance from the transmitters and growth of foliage affecting the signal. Whilst we try our best to minimise this we cannot keep all foliage in particular trimmed throughout the season. Also the system is set up for outside use so sometimes if you are using the network within a motorhome or campervan the speed and connectivity is impacted. If you have any issues during your stay please inform us so we can investigate for you.
Why can I not request a particular pitch? We actively manage our pitch usage to maintain them the best we can during the whole season. As a result we frequently take pitches out of service for short periods during the season to allow them to recover. We therefore cannot guarantee that any requested pitch would be available throughout the season. We will try our best to keep you in a requested area of the site depending on how early you book
